Jefferson City, Tennessee, USA - July 3, 2010: McDonalds , the world's largest chain of haburger-based fast food restaurants. Owned by McDonald's Coporation, the restaurant sells mostly hamburgers and cheeseburgers, such as their Big Mac cheeseburger, and chicken products like their famous McNuggets. McDonald's was founded in 1940 when brothers Richard and Maurce McDonald opened their first restaurant in San Bernardino, California, USA. In May and September of 1961 McDonald's applied for their trade name and large double-arched M logo, respectively. At first the logo was a double-arched M, but later changed to a single arched M, for which a trademark was filed in November 1968. Today, McDonald's operates in 119 countries and serves approximately 58 million customers per day. McDonalds currently has over 31,000 restaurants with about 1.5 million employees.
